The Key to Happiness

In this life
we cannot do great things.
We can only do small things
with great love.

by Mother Teresa¹

Arlu read the line again, "The key to happiness
is to choose happiness."

Tuco had left the book the last time he visited.

She knew the story told in the book moved him.
As it did her. And yet
she remained confused about the range of overlapping time lines.
Time lines tend to do that, but why
so many?

Overlapping
confusion.

But that led her back to
choose happiness
if you wish
for it.

How does it arrive?
When will one know?
She found her self
muddled
but the intention....

Ah, she thought.
It is
always
about
intent

not
result.

Results
may
vary.
But the intent
is
the
key.

She expected
the sun to shine
brighter

but
it shone
as bright
as
it could.
Complete
in its
intent.
